Pennsylvania gaming regulators confirmed with PlayPennsylvania on Tuesday that BetRivers Poker is a step away from networking players into the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement.

Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Communications Director Doug Harbach said BetRivers, operated by Rush Street Interactive, has “entered a soft launch for multi-state poker.” That allows the PGCB to make sure the platform meets all requirements.

Harbach said he expects BetRivers Poker to officially the MSIGA this week.

“Barring any setbacks, my understanding is that they should receive full authorization as soon as Thursday.”

BetRivers will be third PA platform in MSIGA

negotiated the state into the compact, which includes New Jersey, Michigan, Delaware, and West Virginia.

On Pennsylvania’s first day of MSIGA, WSOP began pooling players from other markets.

Harbach told PlayPennsylvania in April that certain operators would be ready to go live on the first day, while cautioning a slower approach from other platforms.

BetRivers took its time entering MSIGA, launching more than six weeks after the state officially ed the compact. The operator got the green light from the Michigan Gaming Control Board earlier this week.

Galfond’s influence on poker app

BetRivers had the players at top of mind when deg its poker app. Pro poker player Phil Galfond, who won World Series of Poker bracelets in 2008, 2015, and 2018, was instrumental in deg the product.

Galfond ensured the app meets the needs of every poker player, including game variety and its rewards system.

“As poker players, we designed this platform from the ground up to be for the players – all players.

“From the amateur playing their very first hand to the sophisticated pro, everyone was kept in mind as we focused on fairness, excitement, and generous rewards that truly benefit the player.

“I’ve been heavily involved in the game design, promotions, and policy decisions, and, more importantly, in building an incredible team that sees online poker the way I do.”

BetRivers Poker offers a comprehensive suite of game formats. That includes cash gamessit & go tournaments, and multi-table tournaments, catering to players of all skill levels.

Now, players using BetRivers have the opportunity to compete against players from different markets. The larger player pool increases prize winnings, along with revenue for the state. It’s a win-win for everyone.
